An auto dealership in Simcoe had an edge in last weeks blackout. Aitken Chevrolet had two hybrid trucks on the lot which they used to power their dealership thanks to their electric/gasoline engines. Paul Cripps from Aitken's tells CD 98.9 it was an experiment which payed off well. They started by plugging the phone system into one of the hybrids, then the computer system. At one point they were running short of gas, so they connected a pump to keep it going. Although this is not the typical use for for the hybrid vehicle the trucks have the outlets in them as a use for contractors to plug in tools on the job.
