Norfolk County : Keep Pets Cool During Heat Wave

With a heat wave hitting Norfolk County full force, a reminder from the local Humane Society to keep your pets cool as well. President Cathie Hosken tells CD 98.9, cats and dogs can also suffer from things like heat stroke, dehydration, and sunburn. It is extremely important to make sure you do not leave animals in your vehicle - even 15 minutes in a hot vehicle can cause serious illness or even death. If you see an animal is distress call the OPP or the Humane Society. Pet owners are also being urged to make sure your animals have plenty of fresh water and shelter from the sun.
